Situated in Midcoast Maine, Knox County is a mixture of rocky shores, majestic mountains, and glorious hills and valleys. All of the 18 municipalities in the county are unique and wondrous and offer visitors to this region everything from beautiful landscapes to glorious ocean views.
Approved by the voters of Knox County on November 2, 2004, the Knox County Charter went into effect, becoming one of the first counties in Maine to have a charter.
